Each day, public transportation moves 14MM people. Out of that number, over half of people take public transportation to work. In NYC, it's around 25% of people. As a result, marketers are using transit in their arsenal to reach commuters.
In NY, we've seen the outside of trains turned into moving flip books of people dancing with iPods as well as wall advertising featuring listening stations for music from Target. And yesterday, I was a little shocked to find that the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) had pimped out the turnstiles with an H&M promotion. Congrats H&M, you're the first and likely not the last to advertise on this highly visible and inescapable transit property.
